Skills development workshop, in the framework of the European ESMARTCITY Project - Interreg Med Program [Creating smarter cities in the Mediterranean region through networking]
The Region of Western Greece, a partner of the Esmartcity project, organizes a skills development workshop at the Chamber of Commerce, in Patras, Greece, on September 26, 2019. The aim of the event is to disseminate the ideas and lessons learned by Smart City from the pilot test Smart City in Western Greece, encouraging innovative SMEs to develop "smart" applications and solutions, providing advanced services to citizens with less impact on the environment. The available technology and the common knowledge gained, followed by the discussion on possible constraints and solutions will enable the development of intelligent areas and sustainable ecosystems, supporting the vision of a "smart" area.
THE ESMARTCITY PROJECT: The European project entitled "ESMARTCITY: Enabling Smarter City in the MED Area through Networking" of the "INTERREG MED 2014-2020" program has as its main object the improvement of the innovation capacity of the cities of the MED area by creating innovative ecosystems, involving quadruple actors (Citizens, Businesses, Universities, and Public Authorities), and the implementation of Smart City ideas, which use digital and energy efficiency technologies to provide better services to the citizen with less impact on the environment, in addition to generating new employment scenarios and living.
